Founded in 1977, SMG provides management services for nearly 240 public venues, including convention and exhibition centers, arenas, stadiums, theaters, performing arts centers, equestrian centers, science centers, and many other types of venues.

 

The venues managed by SMG are spread out around the world with more than 19 million square feet (1.9 million square meters) of exhibition space under management and 1.5 million sports and entertainment seats. As a recognized global leader in the industry, SMG provides venue management, sales, marketing, event booking and schedule management, operational design and construction review services, and preparatory services for the city's iconic venues, such as McCormick Place in Chicago. These also include Soldier Field, the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, NRG Park in Houston 1, and our first customer – Mercedes Benz in New Orleans Super Arena. SMG also provides catering services to more than 140 customers around the world through franchising and its own catering companies.
