On Dec 28 at 16:28, the first phase of Shenzhen Metro Line 20 officially connects to Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The connection of Metro Line 20 marks the “full automatic operation” age for the municipal rail traffic and in the meantime, shows the connection of rail traffic to Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. 

Starting from Airport North station of Line 11, Metro Line 20 has five stations with its final destination set at Convention & Exhibition City. Covering a total distance of 8.43km, Line 20 makes its stop respectively at Airport North, Shenzhen World South, Shenzhen World, Shenzhen World North and Convention & Exhibition City. 

At Airport North station of Line 20, direct transfer can be made to Airport North station of Line 11 and Airport North station of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway. Those who needs to take Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway can make a quick transfer within the station from Line 11 or Line 20 and in the future, Line 20 will be connected directly with Bao’an International Airport Terminal 4, which is still under construction. Shenzhen World station and Shenzhen World North station of Line 20 are closer to the main venue of Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. With abundant surrounding business facilities and large-scale public service facilities, visitors to Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center can walk 100m to the venue after exiting from C1 and C2 of Shenzhen World North station and Shenzhen World station. 

In the vicinity of Shenzhen World South station and Convention & Exhibition City station, many residential quarters, office buildings and industrial bases under construction are allocated. The connection of Line 20 not only realizes the connection among Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway, Bao’an International Airport and Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, but also further brings convenience to the transportation of citizens in Shajing, Airport New Town and other areas.

Metro Line 20 is the first to operate with eight units of type-A fully automatic driverless train and the operating time is from 7am to 10pm. On weekdays and weekends, Line 20 will be operating under the single rail mode from Airport North to Convention & Exhibition City. During the early stage of operation, the interval between each train in peak hours in the morning and evening is 7 minutes and that for non-peak hours is 9 minutes. The entire line runs for 13 minutes in total.
